Description JOB DESCRIPTION - ACCOUNT MANAGER; up to 30k

Our client are looking for an established Account Manager to work alongside them in their expansion plan. You will be used to an agency environment and be ready for a new challenge!

We have a comprehensive job specification which is detailed below, but you will be working across a range of media to meet and exceed client expectations.

KEY OBJECTIVES

To follow and contribute to the key Company Objectives:
1. Quality: manage existing projects, being the main daily point of contact for clients delivering agreed activity on time and budget
2. Quality and Reputation: to seek and deliver best possible solution to client brief; co-ordinating other agency departments (particularly Creative) and suppliers
3. Finance: to maximise all business opportunities within existing clients, both new projects and maximisation of margin
4. Culture: to contribute to the Company culture ensuring that it is an enjoyable and energetic environment
5. People: train and be responsible for direct reports (if applicable) and total management, including upwards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. PROJECT SPECIFIC - be the 'hub' for successful implementation of activity
• Take, understand and establish the brief
• Effectively delegate / brief specific tasks based on the brief requirements
• Co-ordinate the creative and project management aspects of the agency’s response to the client brief, evaluating the response in terms of quality and likely revenue
• Presenting and selling the response, focussing on good communication skills and attention to detail at all times (written and verbal)
• Obtain feedback from the client – ask the right questions to feedback internally, and produce excellent work to the client’s satisfaction
• Project implementation:
• Identify specific tasks and delegate as appropriate
• Monitor progress against plan
• Achieve forecasted revenue
• Take a lead role in briefing in all creative/concept boards
• Ensure efficient use of Company resources – people / materials / tools
• Pre-empt problems before they arise and develop solutions to counteract

1. CLIENT RELATIONSHIP - proactively build excellent client relations
• Ensure provision of client services are to maximum quality so that where possible client recognises this as an Agency USP – and reputation for great service levels maintained and built upon
• Ensure that main point of contact responsibility is maintained
• Anticipate needs and identify actions before the client recognises them
• Plan how to strengthen and extend client relations (in conjunction with AD)

2. CREATIVE - be the stimulus for great creative work
• Understand and utilise processes:
• Be able to explain and rationalise costs, timing and feasibility to client
• Follow internal production and quoting processes
• Provide clearly defined briefs – with clear message and strategy (don’t give woolly briefs)
• Provide support materials and update on client developments where appropriate
• Understand how to appreciate and sell creative work
• Build relationship and ongoing understanding with creative team
• Consistent attention to detail: - brand guidelines; match to brief; proof reading; affordable and realistic

3. PROMOTIONAL MARKETING KNOWLEDGE - be the client's expert on promotional marketing.
• Demonstrate a full appreciation of the Marketing Mix and in depth understanding of below the line techniques
• Demonstrate to your AD a basic grasp of all aspects of the Business, sufficient to make a credentials presentation.
• Be confident enough to recommend the most appropriate mechanics and strategy for your client’s objectives

4. COMMUNICATION - be clear and concise in all communication
• Maximise both internal and external communication to ensure the smooth running of both the team and client projects
• Be professional in all elements of communication; attention to detail; follow up verbal client contact with email / letter - accurate and speedy reflection of conversation
• Initiate regular status meetings with your AD – ensure good flow of communication, both up and down
• Initiate regular client status meetings and ensure any required status reports are kept up to date and distributed regularly

5. FINANCIAL - develop the ability to maximise margins and revenues
• Have a thorough understanding of the internal accounting and billing procedures
• Raise all outstanding invoices as soon as a job is completed
• Maximise revenue potential to ensure margin targets are met
• Be capable of managing revenue, as agreed by the Board
• Ensure no outstanding costs
• Ensure an ongoing monitoring of money spent against clients’ budgets


6. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - seek out and deliver further business opportunities
• Be aware of the opportunities that lead to business growth within existing clients, and report the same to your AD together with outline recommendations for exploiting growth. Read trade press and circulate any relevant articles to the Team
• Gain an understanding of client strategies – offer proactive solutions
• Assist in the preparation of new business pitches, as required. Be able to make new business presentations to clients
• Develop strategic skills, through assisting in the preparation and presentation of pitches – ability to write documents for existing clients
• Be aware of the Agency’s need for new business and actively cultivate opportunities as and when they arise

7. ADMINISTRATION / PROFESSIONALISM - ensure 'super' efficiency both in internal and external dealings.
• Maintain an up to date and efficient filing system that can be easily accessed by any other team member, via team server and hard copies
• Maintain high standards of time keeping and appearance
• Be professional at all times in dealing with clients and colleagues alike
• Take responsibility for creating a clean and tidy work environment: tidy meeting rooms after use; ensure that toilets are kept clean and tidy for Client use; fill dishwasher; keep work area clear; be responsible for company property; answer phones within 3 rings

8. COMPANY PROJECTS/STAFF RELATIONSHIPS – be as much a part of the Company team as you are your own team
• Take an interest and participate in wider company projects and other teams' brainstorms
• Convey, at all times the professional image of the Agency to clients at the same time as contributing to the spirit of the Company
• Always work in a professional, hard working, reliable manner and to always show respect to other Agency staff
• Make new staff feel welcome
• Prepare and assist in Personal Development Plans (if applicable)
• Be a motivator to others in your team especially any member of staff reporting into you
• Ensure that all dealings with those reporting into you are carried out efficiently and effectively i.e. regular and constructive feedback; personal development plans organised and completed


MINIMUM STANDARDS TO BE MET AT ALL TIMES:

- Be punctual for work and meetings
- All deadlines to be met and work produced or presented to the client to be of a high standard
- Manage client budgets efficiently and effectively whilst ensuring the Company’s profit margins are met

• Be the key client contact day-to-day
• Initiate and run regular status meetings (internal and external)
• Be able to clearly, comprehensively and logically present from concepts to costings
• To present alternative, feasible solutions to potential and actual problems
• Secure new projects through excellence of delivery and building a good relationship with client
• To assist in writing/write all on-going proposals for every account worked on
• Ensure all communication is free from errors / typing or otherwise
• Provide accurate reporting of financial information, within deadlines and achieve monthly financial forecast
• Ensure prompt forecasting and reporting within deadlines published by Finance department
