Mac Designer – Northumberland; £15-16k
Based in Northumberland this retail-sector based client has been established for a long period and employs over 150 people across two sites in the North East.
They require a well-rounded Mac Designer to enhance their state of the art in-house Design studio. The candidate needs to be fluent in Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand and Quark. In addition to excellent Mac skills, you will also have a varied commercial illustration style. As part of a team of seven strong designers you must be able to work both alone and in a group, managing your own ever changing workload and be able to hit the tightest of deadlines on time. Experience of studio photography and colour manipulation would be an advantage but is not essential.
The role is varied; as you shall be working on generic designs as well as developing licensed concepts for major blue chip brands. You shall also be required to work on the client’s annual catalogue in addition to their other marketing material across all medias as well as helping out with their in-house product photography. You will also be trained to use their 3D design software and specific printing presses. The client has their own pre press facility so you would also be expected to help with colour manipulation and repro to ensure artwork/concepts are print ready [training will be given].
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on, commercial experience as an ‘all round Designer’.
